HARRY HODGES

ABOUT
Ranch roping competition has deep roots in Western Canadian history. It stems from the buckaroo region of the United States, where they practice the Vaquero style of roping and stockmanship. This includes long ropes, used to catch cattle needed with “soft shots”, and therefore keeping the stress of cattle handling down to a minimum to perform necessary doctoring. Ranch roping is based on horsemanship and softness during all aspects of livestock interaction.
